Where is the wedding?
Our wedding will be held at Serres Farm in Redmond, Washington. It's located in a lovely little area called Happy Valley (!) that's about 25 minutes by car from Seattle. It's pretty simple to find, not far from the freeway exit, and we'll be posting directions as we get a little closer! As per the bride's idiosyncratic love, Serres Farm is a Christmas tree farm with millions of tiny little pine trees. They also have corn and pumpkins which should be beautiful harvest colors next September! Redmond is easily drivable from Seattle but we will be blocking rooms at several hotels nearby for the ease of our out of town guests and anyone that wants to stay nearby!
What time?
Good question! We haven't actually settled on a time yet but the ceremony will most likely be late afternoon followed by dinner and dancing in the historic barn!
Should I rent a car?
Serres Farm is not far from Seattle but it is in an area where public transportation is a little spotty. We recommend driving and we heartily encourage carpooling! However there is plenty of parking so feel free to each take your own individual cars (or a couple, whatever!).
I've heard Seattle is pretty fantastic, what should I do while I'm here?
I'm so glad you've heard that-I'm actually the one that started that rumor! There are a million wonderful things to do in Seattle, please check out the Travel tab for some ideas!
Do I have to rent a tux or ballgown?
Absolutely not! Our wedding will be on the more casual side of things so please just wear something fun that makes you feel fantastic! And that is conducive to dancing. If that is a tux or a ballgown for you then by all means rock it.
